Wedding Song List.
-
Bridal March
Here comes the bride! Easily the most well-known song for a bride to walk down the aisle to. Composed by Felix Mendelssohn in 1842. Works out really well on the Great Highland Bagpipe.
-
Pachelbel's Canon in D
Really nice and recognizable tune that starts off slow and picks up pace a couple different times in the tune. Dating to the late 17th century and written as a wedding gift for Johann Sebastian Bach’s older brother who studied with Pachelbel.
-
Scotland The Brave
This is maybe the second most requested song on the bagpipe. Really fun tune that works out well at the end of a ceremony as the newly weds exit the center aisle together.
-
Skye Boat Song
The melody of this tune is almost as old as the Bridal March and is a great substitution for the bride who wants to walk the aisle to something different. The completed song has been a staple of Scottish folk music for the past century and gained mass popularity with the TV series ‘Outlander’ as they used the melody in the intro to each episode.
-
Ode To Joy - (Beethoven No.9)
This is a fantastic celebratory song that can be placed at the start or end of a wedding ceremony.
